Guardians, Gatherers, and the Gaze of the Wild

As you step into the heart of our curio gallery, this ensemble is the first to greet you — and it doesn’t whisper, it announces. A powerful meeting of elders, warriors, beasts, and spirits carved with soul and symbolism.

This isn’t just a display — it’s a council. Towering totems of animal heads rise on either side like ancestral watchmen: lions, rhinos, elephants, buffalo, and leopards, each carved into the bark-like trunks of symbolic trees. They stare out boldly, as if keeping memory and myth alive.

In the centre stand a tribe of elder figures — with bellies of wisdom, walking sticks of age, and carved feathers that crown them like storytellers of the land. Their faces carry the weight of laughter, survival, and old, deep knowledge. Between them, polished stone predators crouch at the base: lean, alert, and ready. It’s strength. It’s theatre. It’s family.

This display is the threshold between the world outside… and the world within. It reminds you that before you explore Africa’s finest, you are first welcomed by it.
